WMC doesn't read my Xbox controller (XBMC does), but I only need to switch from my remote control to that when a game actually starts. XBMC reads my standard WMC remote, as does Steam. Also, I don't use EventGhost or anything else. I might possibly be able to hack around this by having the powershell script send a ping to XBMC through its JSON-RPC API before exiting, thus waking it up and letting Advanced Launcher work correctly even when the screensaver is enabled.Īs I said, it's not exactly ideal, and it's not really centralized (to go from watching TV to playing a game, I have to go through XBMC), but it's working quite well so far. This seems like either a bug in Advanced Launcher (it should detect if XBMC is in screensaver mode and "wake" it before doing anything else) or XBMC (it should respect "switch to full screen" requests even if it's in screensaver mode). Selecting Cortana checkbox allows you to send the questions asked to Cortana via AutoRemote to a device of your choice. You can even integrate the AutoRemote with Cortana on Windows 10. Without this, XBMC would not go back to full screen if it had sat idle long enough to go to screen saver. AutoRemote options allow you to customise some settings and even redirect all messages to EventGhost. I had to do this to get Advanced Launcher to bring XBMC back to the foreground when steam quit.
